Deleting a Master File

Deleting a Master File

The Hasmate program comes with some Master Files set up by default (see these here) – but always make sure the Master Files are suited to your business.  E.g. if there is a job title set up by default as a Master File that is not appropriate for your business, feel free to make it inactive or delete it.

Why would you make a Master File inactive, and not delete it?

  • If there is a chance that you’ll need that option again, make it inactive, as you’ll be able to make it active when you need it again.
  • If you think it might be connected to somewhere in the program, make it inactive – rather than deleting it, and causing a hole in your data (e.g. incomplete information).

How to delete a Master File

To do this, please click on “Master Files” on the navigation, then click the Master File that you want to update.  E.g. “Employee”, and then “Job Title”.

You will then see all the current Master Files set up for that option.  E.g. all the job titles already set up.

Double click the Master File that you want to delete, or click “Open“.

Click the “Edit” button, and then click “Delete“.  The program will ask if you want to delete this – click “Yes“. All done!

If you have further questions or require training, please contact Hasmate.
